I am not sure if I posted this box before but it seems to have been an ammo box re-used for mortar fuzes.
24 No 162 Mk 4 Fuzes (for 3" mortars) filled by Thorpe Arch, Yorkshire on 11/56.
The top is stencilled: 762. L2A2. BDR/CHR3.
I guess this means 7.62 ammo in bandoleers of 3 chargers.
On the bottom is impressed: R.& H.W.Ltd. 1956 so it was re-used quickly as a fuze box. The fuze maker is not mentioned.
