while not a mine, thought this was the best place for it. In the late 60's the US had booby trapped M16 and AK magazines, that detoanted after so many rounds wre fired and released a pressure switch. Don't know the person who released the info onthis BT, but it use to be classified in US pus

Found this on a Lybia siteBT AK magazine.jpg

I doubt these were used in Libya. Looks more like somebody has put all available stuff together in a stew and created a spicy story.

Nihil novus sub sole ....

These russina nad yugo BT'd magazines are alot more complicated the the US ones were. the US ones used a simple micro switch, battery, capacitor systema nd a blasting cap and C4 in the mag. e\When the bullets were put in they pushed the micro switch whcih allowed the battery to charge the capacitors, then when the bullets were removed or fired that released the microswitch to the fire position.

As I had said earlier there are lots of storeys about BT bullets and mortars, and I do not doubt them. Is just that there has never been anything "official" that has been put out that fully explains the functioning of these items. wouldbe niice info to add to the library

In USSR haven`t ever produced BT with AK magazines! Probably only home made by sobiet solders in Afghanistan.
But ML-UZRGM were produced by plants. And in USSR produced since 1940-th BT which looks like cigarette case. Mine calls MS-5 :)
Probably from ex-Yugo it arrived to Lybia.
