Very nice rounds though. They look to be in fantastic condition,

Case indents

Hello Lee,
The indents are cut-outs because the 3 in that photo are all two peace rounds,
photo shows 12 pr 12 cwt dated 29-11-98.
thanks Jim

As separate loaded cases the mouth of the case was sealed with a white metal lid, It was held in place by the notches in the rim of the case which were turned inwards.

Hey Grapeshot, excellent collection of old projos and cases! This is the first 10 Pdr. projo I have seen on BOCN. Could you please list the lengths (tip of projectile to base) of the 10 Pdr., 12 Pdr., and 15 Pdr.s that are in Photo 1 of your posting?

Thanks,

John

Nice collection.

Very nice collection grapeshot and nice to see old shell complete with original fuzes as these are often missing.

Jim,

Thanks for the measurements and the photo of the projo bases! Would you by chance have any old manuals that have drawings of the old Boer War era projos, like the 10 Pdrs, 12 Pdrs, 15 Pdrs, 4.7 inch, 6 inch etc.?

I'm particularly looking for info on the 10 Pdr and 12 pdr projos, fuzes, cases, etc., especially the line drawings in manuals of the projos.

Thanks,

John
