Could someone id these projectiles? One is 261mm the other 266mm in length. Diameter 74mm, driving band diameter 77mm,width of db is 13.5mm and starts 42mm from the base. Also, there are wooden "lifting plugs" threaded into the fuse wells and one has the C broad arrow mark with an A on each side. Threads are 36mm. And the brass caps on the bottoms of these shells are for? Sorry if the images are not the best. New camera. Any help would be appreciated.

The brass plates on the bottom are most likely sealing plates. I've seen others sealed in place by a lead strip. I've got a manual somewhere that states they did this because of the poor welds on older projectiles and it helped ensure that there was no blow through from the hot gas of the gun barrel.

Thanks for the info. Do you think these are for the french 75 ? I popped them into the cases and they are perfect together but not sure yet if they are correct.
