75mm projectile

F0031

Well-Known Member
Identification needed for 75-ish mm projectile. The only marking is an L about 1cm below the band. The fuze has no visible markings. A bit of a mystery to me. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Tony.

some measurements would be nice...
length of projectile with and without fuze
distance of driving band to bottom
and width of driving band

(looks like a German ww1 to me)
Sprenggranate Model 1900 G fr die 7.5cm Kanone is a wild guess till meassured

Measurements

I've included a picture of the base, showing that off-centre circular part.

Length, including fuze: 326mm
Length without fuze: 292mm
Base to bottom of driving band: 58mm
Width of band: 13mm
Diameter at driving band: 75mm
Diameter at base: 65mm
Diameter of fuze: 40mm

Hope this helps,

T.

Hello

For me, it can be a french 75mm explosive shell model AL (Andr Lefvre / year 1916).
model AL is longer than the standard shell. And rarer also ...
