It also says that the RAF bomb disposal knew that it contained no explosives, but still took it away for destruction.
They should have let him keep it, it might have made a collector out of him.
However, I suppose in this day and age the headline "boy allowed to keep WW2 bomb he found" wouldn't go down very well.
