7,92 Mauser exerzier in clip?

Well-Known Member
Hi,
can anyone tell me more about this clip with Mauser cases? Cases are copper plated steel cases with holes drilled all the way through. One set of holes above the rim and one set of holes under the neck. Cases are fired German WW2 stamped. In the most complete round there is a piece of wood which appeared to went all the way to the bottom of the case.
Clip where they came in is stamped as you can see in the first picture.
Searching on google for exerzier patronen gave me other types than these ones.
Can anyone tell me more on these types of rounds and the stamp in the clip?

Best regards, Cornman

Unfortunately, there is no German factory made CWS plated steel Ex. round known with the holes in a position as yours.
In this way they were only made by P413 / D.W.M. Lbeck.

A lot of similar rounds were made after WW2 of fired cases.

Hi Dutch,
the shells in the clip are marked 40 P413 XIp1 6 and the other 38 P131 8c1 12 .
Who made the ones I have and for which purposes?
Do you have any idea on the stamp in the clip?

Regards, Cornman

The P413 XIp1 6 40 is only known as an Ex. round with a fluted case.

The P131 8c1 12 38 is only known as a sS (Heavy ball) round. The head stamp is very rare. The person who made the bunter made a mistake. Instead VIII he engraved a normal 8
There are no Ex. Rounds known from P131, the Deutsche Waffen- u. Munitionsfabriken A.G., Plant Berlin

Both were made from fired cases

Your clip seems to be from Sellier & Bellot.

Rgds.

Hi Dutch,
thanks for the info, it clears up a little bit. Remains the question who would have put effort in making these Ex rounds and why.
