.50 Spotter Drill...Genuine?

As well as a rather battered three red flute chrome Drill round I also have this one, I've had it for years I think it is genuine anyone know? Manufactured by Kynnoch and the case has no holes but the projectile has three cannelures. Thanks for any help :)

The headstamp is typical of Kynoch for the 1970's. I wonder if this is from a contract for another country that did not want to spend extra money for plated and fluted cases, as was typical of British drill cartridges?
