.50" BAT Spotter Tracer identification

Is there a way of telling the difference externally between the M48, M48A1, & M48A2 rounds in .50" BAT Spotter Tracers? I'm thinking along the lines of headstamp dates or dimensions of the coloured tip & band? Thanks, Pete.
