45mm arrowhead with strange tailfins

found strange AP shell. i suppose that according to dimensions this is a russian 45mm AP with fins that someone glued additionaly for unknown purposes.
but if you have some different knowldges on this one please share it.

I think you've got it, looks like somebody's toy made with rifle grenade fins added. If it were for real the AP body would likely be too heavy for effective launch, or the fins would be too light to survive firing.

i came to it but i thought this might be some experimental round or so. i will try to remove fins from round and i assume that shouldn't be so hard to do.
 
If it were experimental those fins are going to play hell going down the barrel.
 
This is a simple Russian BR-240P HVAP projectile with "fake" fins. Not experimantal projectile.
 
i just found some notes on experiments made in Bosnia and Herzegovina during War '92-'95 with rocket assisted HVAP projectiles.
project is abandoned as projectiles couldn't achieve required ballistic performances primarily armor penetration.
i don't know weather this type is used, and how those projectile looked like, but i think that due to small mass this one might be logical choice.
 
That's a very nice arrowhead projectile, hopefully you'll get the fins off without damaging it.
