I stumbled upon this nice looking "bullet" the other day and nearly sprained my mouse finger hitting the buy-it-now button. As I mentioned to another member,I googled for hours with no luck. Im interested in any info anyone could provide as to what program it might have come from, gun type, history etc etc????.
The case measures out at a bit over 40mm at the mouth,42.20mmID to be exact with a length of 175mm. A guess is that it should be called 40x175 rimmed and tapered. The taper is 48.45mm just above the rim and 43.93mmOD at the case mouth.
Projectile length is 211mm and is an even 42.10mm at the base of the projectile up to where the ogive starts, above the driving band. The driving band is 8.22mm X 43.60mm. Driving band reminds me of 40mm grenade types and also some of the WECOM projectiles and is made of copper. The projectile and case are not magnetic, most likely aluminum, doesnt feel to be too much weight to this although the bullet is solid.
Please let me know if there any other questions I can answer to help you guys with an ID?
