Greetings,
I asked about this years ago but cannot now find the thread, nor my notes, so...
What is this, please? British from memory, and probably pre-1900.
Calibre 102mm
Length 291mm
Base to DB 19mm
DB width 39mm
Weight nearly 15kg
No tracer, flat base.
Only visible marking - W2
Thanks very much20240817_090031.jpg20240817_090056.jpg20240817_090108.jpg

I have been told that this a British Naval practice shot and that they were used in NZ during WW2...
Comments?
Thanks

Yes it is a 4" Navy Practice shot. I also could not find the old thread and I may have replied?
My example is a Practice with tracer from 12-42. C I = cast iron. HB = maker. ( A bit hard to read).
It may be AN above the P for Practice. Lot 5. GK or BK in circle on band. ^ over FK 1 on projectile side.
Similar dimensions but mine is 22mm from base to drive band. About 14kg weight.
