Greetings,
Can anyone provide any information on the above mentioned Vickers experimental gun and particularly the ammunition for it?
Also of interest from Vickers was the Falcon 30mm twin AA mounted on the FV430. Again, any info on the gun and ammunition would be most welcome.
Thanks, Charley

Don't tell me you've got one
This is all the info I have Charley.
I'm sure someone out there can help you.
Dave.

No Dave, i don't have one. (sadly) You'd be much more likely to...
But i see references to these obscure experimentals and find them very interesting....
After all they were state-of-art , just became irrelevant as missiles were developed.
Thanks for posting the drawing, i'll get a rough estimate of case dimensions from that.
Though actually the caliber is a bit different.

Way outside my comfort zone, but these are not dissimilar to the Burney "Duplex" projectiles of the late war. He tested similar calibres using bored out barrels, but his shells had fore and aft discarding sabots. There is quite a lot of information on these in the "Q" Procs.

Charley I've got a load of info on the 5.4/2.2 and the 5.4/1.9 from the late 1940's if that's of any use? Nothing on the 4.26/3.2 though.
Dave.
