A recent acquisition which I took a bit of a punt on. The case itself is 37 x 170 x 48R. From pictures I thought it might be a canister round but the 'projectile' is actually solid. Looking at the colour it could well be bronze. It is fixed to the case by what looks like 4 pins. However, looking at their orientation they could just be 2 pins which go through the projectile from side to side.
Looking at the headstamp it has what appears to be the early Turkish Crescent surmounted by a mark I can't quite make out. The 'V' beneath could be the Arabic symbol for 7 and the bottom number 10 over 301.
A good friend has found that Egypt had two of these guns but no information about Turkey having them. So is this Turkish or not? Thoughts much appreciated.
