35mm Oerlikon Test Round...

Darren

Well-Known Member
I have this 35mm round, can anyone offer any info on it?

Projectile is stamped: Inerte
Projectile is stenciled: Testmunition WSSB 15

Case is stamped: 35 X 228 DM1 LOS PSW-1-80-X
Primer is stamped: DM.211 LOS OE-1-424

Is the case correct for the projectile?

Thanks,
Darren

Thanks Dave, do you know anything about this round? Obviously used for some sort of testing but I don't know what the stencil WSSB 15 means? I am unable to unscrew the bottom part of the projectile as it is very tight, would that be something to do with weight?

The case was what the projectile came in, I'm assuming that it is the correct one?

Cheers,
Darren

Hi Darren not sure what WSSB15 means.
The case is almost certainly correct for the projectile - I say almost because it could be a standard case would have been used instead of a fluted one.
If you try and unscrew it just make sure you try and unscrew it rather than do it up - it sounds a bit obvious but it should unscrew in the opposite direction to what you'd expect i.e. clockwise.
Dave.

I did try unscrewing it both ways but it seems to be tight, I'm not going to force it and damage it but may try a bit of WD40. If that doesn't work I will just leave it be. Interesting round this one, I've not seen one before.
