Picked up this 30mm WECOM Helicopter Gun Round recently.

Projectile is a Ball Round Marked HVM 15 4555 30mm T328 on the unfired copper driving band. It is finished in a black painted coating. Brass shell case has a headstamp of 30mm XM193 1969 541 FAE and black stencilling on the side CTG 30mm XM552 HE AMM LOT PA-E-00325. The primer has been struck.

While researching it , I see it listed in a few places as a US Experimental round , made specifically for the WECOM 30mm Helicopter Gun. However I cant find any production figures. Is this a common item or are they rare ?

I think your's has the wrong projectile on. Dummies (drill) are around and not too difficult to find.

The fairly common projectile is for the 30 x 126B mm case (can't recall the round type) ,another US developmental round ,I think also for helicopter weapons.
I've seen WECOM drill and dummy rounds (they have a blue anodised windshield)but now you mention it can't recall seeing any live/service rounds.

cheers
Bob
