3.7cm Pak containers

I collect 3.7cm Pak ordnance but also keep a lookout for containers. The unfortunate thing is they are hard to find and complete good condition examples are near impossible to find.

I have discovered 2 different styles of the metal container for 12 shells. The difference being the lid seal:

1. No marking for normal tight seal.
2. Marked "luftdicht" for a gas tight seal.

Container for the Sprgr. Patr. 18 umg. (normal seal)

Container for the Sprgr. Patr. 40 (luftdicht seal)

This container like the majority of 3.7cm Pak containers has had the internal parts removed :tinysmile_angry_t:.

Hi Endel
Very nice pictures. Thank you for posting them.

It is unusual to find any labels left on 3.7cm Pak containers can you please post some close ups of just the labels?

What colour is the dot below the handle....it looks white:questionmark:

Here are the labels and the dot color is white. Does the color shows the shell type?

Information on this topic has been hard to find. In fact I am starting to think that I have reached a dead end.

From what I can tell the colour and shape of the mark below the handle identified the projectile type.
  • yellow strip = sprgr 18 umg
  • white dot = sprgr 40
  • white strip = pzgr
Unfortunately the pzgr box pictures are the best I have so far.

Just don't try to bite them or put them in a stew.

The container looks really good now. Thank you for the pictures.
Are the cardboard tubes and the wooden part inside the lid original or replacement parts?

Hi
I want to show you some pics of my 3,7 Pak container.

Excellent container. Thank you for adding your pictures to the thread.

Does the container have any markings or labels to indicate the type of 3.7cm Pak ammo that it once held?

PC

No,there are no markings or labels. But i think that there was a label near the handle.there are some rests of glue i think.
