3" & 4.2" Mortar Fuze Plugs.

I put this thread in fuzes but they are plugs. Photos for peregrinvs and his restoration. Please add any extra makers you may have.

My plugs are all black bakelite and came from Australian 3" unfilled mortar shells in 3 round card containers, 2 in a steel box.
These were being broken down by the army for scrap 20 years ago. Bodies, tails and plugs. What a waste but many survived.

I kept 3 mortars by J & W and each had a different maker on the plug.
B.B. in a rectangle. KELLY. C.U.Tilley? all short 52.5mm long. The longer No6 came in an adaptor and is 65.5mm long.

I need to know if these are Australian or UK makers.

Ron,

As far as I know the mortar maker "J & W" is Johns and Waygood, Melbourne - the elevator company.

I don't know any of the transit plug manufacturers.

BB = Bluemel Brothers, Coventry, UK. This fits nicely because their stock in trade was bakelite bicycle pumps.
I cannot find any of the others.
