I was pleased to add this one to the collection recently.
I understand its Canadian and from the 1960's.
That's about all I know about it.
If anyone has any further information or examples I'd be interested in hearing from them.
Note the way the rim steps down from the main case - the rim is only 25.3mm!!
The ring in the photo has several small holes in it and fits inside the case.
All INERT/empty/unscrews etc.
Dave.

Interesting round Dave! The projectile looks a bit large in relation to the powder chamber, for a recoilless round. It does have minimal rotating bands though, which would make sense. Will be interesting to hear more about it when info is available.

John

Very interesting - I've not heard of anyone putting together fin-stabilised and recoilless features in such a small calibre.

Thanks guys, i'm trying to get some info out of Bill, apparently he has some.
Tony I'm sure there was something about this in the ECRA journal some time ago - not photos but a line drawing, I'll have a search through the huge pile of ECRA stuff I have.
Dave.

The only recent (i.e. the last 5 years while I've been editor) one like this I can recall is the 20mm Davy Crockett spotter in issue 507 (July 2007) which fired a similar-looking projectile but from a non-RCL, bottlenecked case.

That could have been the one I asked about in ECRA.
I'll look again Tony.
Dave.

25 x 105

I have a list of 20mm and larger ECRA references by cal., from Dec 1996 no. 379 and first 10 yrs but can find no ref for the 25 x 105. Might have missed it but dont think so, am prepared to be corrected though. 2pr

Hi its in the cartridge listing in the WD de Hek books. There is also a write up in the IAA journal that I'll dig out and study - apparently its the IAA Journal 438, Jul-Aug 2004, but just showed a patent drawing from IAA 433, by Frederick Kempler of Ontario (Patent 2,818,811, Jan 7, 1958), assigned to Levy Auto Parts Co of Toronto.

I'll post more info if I find any.

Dave.

Hi Camp X, its a 25mm (calibre) X 105 (case length) - a lot smaller than what you were trained on. I've got some info on this but am trying to get permission to put it on the forum from the publishers.
Dave.

More information about 25 x 105 round.

One thing I should have clarified, the IAA is the International Ammunition Association who kindly gave permission for the information to be published and their web site is as follows:
