hi guys, you will remember some months ago the thread regarding 20mm Hispano bands. Several of us have bands that have not been 'finished' to the correct profile and the discussion was whether these were pukka or rebanded. Mine came from an impeccable RAF source so i doubt they were rebanded - perhaps unfinished. However, i have now found an even stranger one - a 20mm Oerlikon with a Hispano band! See the attached. The projectile is typical Oerlikon HE/T Mk2 with the separate cavities, the usual Oerlikon increase in diameter for the forward half of the projectile and again, an unmarked 254 fuze typical of the Oerlikon rounds. BUT, the driving band is the same profile as the Hispano. Any thoughts?
