Not my usual thing, but I thought it too nice to leave behind.
I belive I'm missing a brass internal cover that goes under the safety cap that is a press fit ?
Does any one have one ?
My fuze is a No 151 1 - H ltd /41
mortar body is; 2" MOR 1, TL 2/41, 189
(The spring loaded holder for the cap inside the bottm
is also missing)

Nice find, the cap is hard to find here in the UK where they fired millions of them in training, plenty of crushed ones. Those that are found are usually with the other part of a fuze that makes it complete. They are crimped on the bottom which is a pig to remove without damaging the cap. If you do find one is usually in a bitza box and by chance. I will ask about.

The thin metal cover over the top of the fuze had an embossed cross for identification.

Thanks, slightly squished might do if they are soft enough to work with ?

I think most had the cross on the top. I will ask about a squashed one, being brass you may have to anneal it.

Both! There are a number more "H" monograms. Hoover with their eponymous vacuum cleaner did die-casting and the 151 is a Mazak Fuze. Hadfields were in the steel trade. They were in Sheffield - steel country.
