hello,
I know I'm sailing close to the wind with this dug item, but it is NOT Ordnance.... it's part of the gun!
found at Coleshill House, Oxon, England.... but from a German 105mm LeFH18 (ww2) http://www.lovettartillery.com/10,5cm_sightmount_for_sale.html.

I have seen the =V= symbol on german ww2 shell cases.... what does it mean (exact terminology please- writing a report)?

Does the other symbol, eagle over SU(G?), ring any bells?

thanks,
Jim.

Is Coleshill House the place where they trained sabatures (or however it's spelt) during WW2? The walled in grounds where the original building burnt down in the 50's? If so, apparently they have uncovered a load of training bunkers recently and are having a historical talk day there in August for 1 a head!

these Stamps are german acceptance stamps (normally for the Waffenamt). In this case they are from between end of the 1920's ad early 1930's I think. Normally there is a "WaA + number" code below the eagle. I don't know the meaning of "SUG" or whatever - better pictures would help.
