Hi Spotter
As per the other member with his query about double banded `.50` I think you`ll find the one on the right is a 12.7 x 108.
The extra band should be showing as it is not a crimp band the 1st one is.
Try these links:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/12.7x108mm
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.50_BMG

As an aside I was told that the NATO .50 x 99 would fit the 12.7 x 108 but not vice versa - a common Soviet Bloc (& very good one if true) weapons.

I have about 20 spare 12.7 cases with links if anyone looking for some or a swap?

Confirm that your round is the Soviet 12.7 x 108, and is probably an API, the most common load in this calibre.

Contrary to popular opinion, these are not interchangeable either way with the .50 BMG (12.7 x 99mm). It was often said that the 7.62 x 51mm NATO round was interchangeable with the Soviet 7.62 x 54mm rimmed round, but that was just propaganda. I remember being told that in about 1962 in a small arms lecture!

I was also told this by a history teacher in school "the Russians made their guns so that they could use our ammo as well".
