Hey guys, just here to blow off some steam and anger....not at anyone here though.
I don't know if you've been following European news lately, but things regarding a certain religion have been getting rather bad.
In the Netherlands, the country I call home, as of late a couple of demonstrations have taken place, demonstrations in support of ISIS and HAMAS and against Isral.
During all of these Dutch laws regarding the uttering of discriminating language (most poignant being the shant: all Jews must die) and showing of forbidden symbols (swastikas, fascist salute) were broken, yet the Dutch authorities DID NOT DO A THING, neither to prevent nor to correct.
A Jewish woman of Mexican origin living in Amsterdam, however, was summoned by her housing society to remove an Israli flag she was flying from her balcony (several of her neighbours flying palestinian flags)....even after having been threatened, harrased....and firebombed!!!!! AGAIN, THE AUTHORITIES DID NOT RESPOND....
Yesterday things hit a new low. A female student flying the Israli flag from her house (in the same neighbourhood as the Mexican Jewish lady), was attacked (from behind) by two male adepts of "the religion of peace", she suffered several injuries and a concussion and was told that she can expect to have her throat cut in the near future......so far no response from the authorities.
I am anything but an intolerant person, I despise racism and feel that everyone is free to say what he/she wishes......but I expect the authorities to uphold the law... and do so in a way that is unbiased to all.. TOO.
Latter, however, is no longer the case. A female reporter was taken away from one of the pro ISIS/HAMAS demonstrations by the police, in fact for her own safety, YET after having been told by same police that she was destabilizing the gathering. At this same meeting later on pre-mentioned shanting took place and Hitler was given public support for his actions....and same police ...STOOD BY AND WATCHED (a police car even was adorned with an ISIS sticker).....
I guess we have come back to the state of affairs that was eminent in a great number of European countries in the 1930's......though there seem to be many more "nowaday Chamberlains" around in governments and police.
