15cm Artillery Shell

Brian Keith

Well-Known Member
15cm Artillery Shell, Czechoslovakian, 1933 That much I do know. It is 294mm tall, is that the correct length for the case or has it been cut down? What gun did it go to? What factory made it? It is in as found condition, showing years of dust and apathy. If it were yours, would you clean it up or leave it as is, other than a mild cleaning to get the dirt off. Im in the US and I have to imagine this is an uncommon shell case to find here. Is it considered rare in other places? This will be my first attempt to post photo's, I hope I get it right.
Thanks in advance BKW

Chech Model 1925, 15 cm Skoda Howitzer. Used intensively in WW2, also a lot by the Germans.

Indeed relatively common on Europe main land, both with and without WaA.

15cm Artillery ShellMM

My notes give 296mm as case Length, But its a fired case what do the
books say
Frank

Although my reference also mentions 296 mm, my actual shell cases are 294 mm.
