This nice little 18pdr was in a large collection we recently acquired. The base of the brass case has no marks anywhere. Judging by the lack of primer and un-fired condition of the projectile we were thinking either a training round, unfinished production item or maybe just one that got missed...
Picked up this little beauty the other day. This has to be the cleanest 18pdr I have seen in a long while. Not like the usual rusty ground dug ones doing the rounds.
I would think this was picked up soon after firing judging by the condition and lack of corrosion.
