Unknown projectile

This projectile is 8-1/2 inches long, 3-1/2 inches in diameter and weighs about 18 pounds. Sorry, I don't use metric measurements.

Hello, the projectile resembles the old German type "Hartgussgranate" with base screw, filled with blackpowder without fuze. Model C/72 or C/76. The projectile has a thin lead skirt soldered on the body - I have only drawings of the 15 cm and 21 cm and have no literature about smaller calibers. Length and diameter coul fit for a 90 mm caliber - rather marine type, no field guns. The lead skirt is corroded away without trace by storage under "wrong" conditions. auf270
