30lbs bomb dispenser or rather whats left of it

Hi SMLE2009Your photo shows a US SUU-30/B Dispenser, the basis of a wide range of cluster bombs in the 1960-70s. From the black and white markings I would guess that it was dropped on trials - the black and white squares show up when filming the drop.Regardseodda

Thanks eodda, there is a lot of black and white(also yellow and blue) trials ordnance out there,we often 'fall over' 1000pdrs painted up the same. The US still use the area now and again,last year they carried out a series of straffing runs from a US carrier out at sea! Cheers Tony
