Here's the pics i promised earlier of the PIAT round box.
After a good clean to get rid of the crud, it came up nice.
Dead chuffed to get a hold of it, not least in this condition.

I think thats a different box Blackwatch. What are the stampings in the lid? The original box is a B166 mk2

Yes it is ,it is a early war pattern steel box for two 3 carriers.
boxnr C 224.

I've got the same c 224, dated 5/43. I've also seen wooden boxes for 2 carriers, approx the same measure of the b166 MK2 but dated 1947

PIAT box

Nice box. Never seen an early one. It seems low in height, did the carriers inside lay on their sides?

The box is low in height,It is the same box used for the 4,5 and 5,5 inch, and the carriers ,lay on their sides
