Doppz92, no marking on the cap and common markings on the case 37-85 (dated 1916).
I don't know if this cap belongs to this case and I don't know if other markings were added when used with JD mortar.
I have been looking for such a cap for 20 +years
Earlier cases stamped later ones ink marked which usually gets lost hence
confusion when found. These case examples are not mine, I have a 1916 stamped and have
never seen the later stenciled kind. I have noticed a number of the stamped cases used in drill rounds.
Maybe found to be difficult to segregate casings so taken out of use more or less in favour
of inked cases.
